Capacitive Discharge Welding

Avio NRW-200A Cap Discharge Welder
Capacitive Discharge Equipment is used in the majority of welding applications. It is recommended for spot welding most of the metal combinations found in the electronics industry and is capable of handling small parts. These include most copper allows and or any other highly conductive materials. The power supplies charge a capacitor bank to a set level and discharges the energy quickly into the part to generate the weld. The controller has the following advantages:
- Settings can be set via a separate controller like a PLC or computer
- The welder will not fire until the capacitors have reached set levels, ensuring consistent welding results while minimizing accidental double welds.
- Three (3) separate Taps on the transformer allows a customized weld pulse that increases the flexibility of the parts weld-able with this equipment.
- Dual Pulse Control enables the welder to handle a greater variation of the parts (like various levels of oxidation) without changing the weld settings.
- Automatic Conditioning
- The welder includes a preset counter function for tracking.
